LT Kristoffer Alexander, CHC, USN

Lieutenant Alexander serves as the Supervisory Chaplain for 1st Medical Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group and supports 1st Dental Battalion at Camp Pendleton, CA. where he provides spiritual care to all military personnel and their families.  Additionally, he was selected as the FMFWO/QO assistant coordinator, creating and training 100 and 300 level material while coordinating packages after successful completion of all PQS requirements.  Following an INDOPACOM deployment while TAD with Combat Logistics Battalion 11 (CLB-11), Chaplain Alexander was the sole nominee for the Professional Naval Chaplaincy Award within 1st Marine Logistics Group and provided a MEF-wide training for all chaplains and religious program specialists as the subject matter expert on Religious Key Leader Engagement.

 

Previously, Chaplain Alexander served as the Deputy Director for Commander, Naval Surface Squadron FOURTEEN where he concentrated his efforts on manning, training, and equipping the Mayport waterfront while supervising 10 ship company chaplains.  While in Mayport, FL. Chaplain Alexander served on both USS FORT MCHENRY (LSD 43) and USS THOMAS HUDNER (DDG 116), where he ensured the spiritual, mental, moral, and physical welfare of ship’s company. During his time aboard, he played a critical role during ready-Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) operations, decommissioning preparations, a Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV) survey and a COM2EX in preparation of a subsequent deployment.  Before joining USS FTM and USS THD, he served three years at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, the only tri-base in the DOD, as a Staff Chaplain and concurrently as Command Chaplain of Naval Support Activity Lakehurst.  He was awarded numerous personal awards, including Junior Officer of the Year in 2018.

 

Chaplain Alexander, a native of Vancouver, Washington, commissioned as a Chaplain Candidate Program Officer in 2015, completing all requirements in just 16 months.  Previously, Chaplain Alexander served in two separate non-denominational churches for 10 years.  In that time, he excelled as the children’s pastor, youth pastor, young adults pastor, senior pastor’s administrative assistant, and multi-site program coordinator where he executed research and community development.  In 2017, he received the bi-annual John G. Mitchell Award from his alma mater for demonstrating most consistently the marks of a Christ-like servant leader, and he is endorsed by the Evangelical Church of Alliance.

 

Chaplain Alexander previously served as a United States Marine where he was selected as the Lay Leader with Platoon 3101 at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, CA.  He continued with the School of Infantry and Communication Electronics School as a Field Radio Operator before serving with 4th Marine Logistics Group, 6th Engineer Support Battalion.

 

Chaplain Alexander has been married to his wife Mandie since June of 2010 and they have five children, three of which were adopted in Aug of 2024.  Since 2011, he and his wife have served as therapeutic foster parents to more than a dozen children in WA, NJ, FL, and CA.
